MY HEART GOES POP !

posted on: Thursday, January 31, 2013

Jeans. The eternal search for the perfect pair, which for my part has only led to eternal suffering in the changing room, and in 90% of the cases me leaving the store emptyhanded- more or less frustrated.
That is until the phenomenon 'boyfriend fit' came and made an entrance on the fashion scene. Now, I am not going to idolize, finding a good pair of jeans is  a tricky buisness, but at least I didn't have to worry too much about how they fitted around my hips.
So, the POP model from ACNE came into my life one day when in Oslo- Sara tried them on.I loved their narrow, almost boyish straight cut around the waist and slightly tapered just-over the ankle fit. They were quirky and odd, and with just enough coolness as they really looked like you have just snatched them out of your bf's closet. Now they also come in all this beautiful colors, I can't seem to decide which one to go for....

Love, love, love this photo by Tommy! What fell into liking is the clear contrast in it, the fresh royal blue and strict grey, the contrast between the fresh and the masculine and the ultimate contrast of what's in now opposite to the timeless. It's seriously a photo that has captured it all for me, actually one of my fav street photos of all time. And the styling?? Sublime!

LET'S TALK DETOX!

So, this is pretty much what is my fridge!
My annually post-Holiday detox has started some time ago and will be in full swing until the end of FW. It's not a diet, but my body seriously needs a cleanse. However, the problem is my darling who lives with me is a  gourmand, and even my finest Caesar salad looks like a dogfood compered to his homemade fresh burger and fries. I mean it  kind of got  demotivating.
Which at the end got me thinking: is  my annual cleanse is  just a joke as I am constantly lusting for a good Club Sandwich, or basil and tomato muffins?Or is it a healthy way of eating that instead of cleanse should be more an all- year menu?
What do you my dear readers, should we detox or are we just fooling ourselves?

OK, spring is on my mind and I am completely ignoring the fact that the temperature has just crawled a little bit over 0.However my mind is set on upcoming FW and Paris and all the SS13. So, if I could wear anything right now, this would be it!
Is it to early to write to Santa again??

I love brunches, especially the ones on Sunday as I don't have to feel like there is still tons of things to do afterwards. Also, I can think over what I wear slightly more, that the usual on the run outfits.
I have adjusted this little Alexander Wang number of a turtleneck , so it fits some inches over the bellybutton and paired it with a highwaisted leather skirt. Some simple accessories and metal details and woop, one is ready to go!

Have a great Sunday darlings!

I am wearing Alexander Wang turtleneck, leather skirt by Toposhop , by Malene Birger purse and Georg Jensen watch.

THANK YOU!

Such a great honor to be featured in in 'Best of the year' column in VOGUE US!
Thank you!

CHUNKY KNITS

No matter how hard I try to ignore the fact that the wonderful springcollections are arriving in stores m they there are reminding me that the spring so, so far away! Not that I need a bigger reminder than the icy wind and snow, that is currently going on. But I am not wining as I have this lovely knit to wrap myself in! Or weel, actually I got it for my love, but I ended up wearing it.
Nevermind it really is one of the most delightful things I have worn. I paired it just casually with a all black attire, just to make it pop little extra.
P.S I finnaly got hold of that Vogue I was talking about some time earlier, I can't wait to show you!

I am wearing Ch's jacket, Dolce&Gabbana sweater, Diesel jeans and TheManual&Co purse, the boots are from Acne.

THINGS THAT MAKE ME SMILE

To be quite honest my week has been kind of cr**p , however DHL ringing the doorbell
with this lovely things in beautiful packing has definitely made my day at least.
It kind of a reminded me why I started all of this,s at the end lace ups and perfect little clutches can make me smile endlessly.
I love the mix of clean lines of my new Valentino and the crazy reptile pattern of the heels I have been drooling over for a while now- lace ups by Aquazzura.
Feeling like a luckiest girl in th world!

GOOD CLASSICS THAT KEEP YOU WARM

I think that as at the most places on the Northern hemisphere we are all currently freezing (the cold masses from Sibir?).
Which is,  a big time challenge, if you are trying to stay somewhat looking descent as opposed to looking like a polar bear. So, while my attire looks quite  early- springish I assure you that I have using something that is supposed to be a jacket ,as a cardigan can get you long way, especially if you layer it with winter coat.
Now, that my dear readers, is a whole other level of warm.
Suddenly my decision to buy a pair of Aquazzura lace ups, doesn't seem as wise as when I strategically explained to my bf why I need a pair of sandals for the FW in February...

Jacket by Isabel Marant Etoile, Shirt by Celine, leather pants by Malene Birger and wristwatch from Georg Jensen. And yes I am drinking Pukka tea from it's beautifully made cup.

PURE COOLNESS

Coolness in it's  purest form with 10 spoons of perfection. I love Daria and the way her UpperEast side curls work with slouchy Celine silhouette.
If there is one item I will invest in this summer it will be the top in the downrigh corner.
And did I tell you that those fluffy flats will be an instant hit when realised?

My everyday has been quite hectic lately, as all of my weekends have gone in editing and shooting for a couple of magazines. However, after shooting for the spring issues, it has been more than delightful to jump into oversized sweater and coat, that reflect current temperatures.
Once again, it has been lovely visiting sales and planing outfits for the upcoming FW, as my mind is completely turned towards the eponymous fashion month.
But, for now I am just keeping it cozy and warm.

I am wearing H&M coat (mens), vintage sweater, my old JBrand jeans, by Malene BIrger purse and Isabel Marant heels.

LATELY

posted on: Saturday, January 19, 2013

I have been running on and of from work and between shoots (and my ridiculously stiff neck giving me headaches) I have been wearing a lot of flats and relaxed combos. My favorite is all denim attire, paired with lizard flats and just coat loosely hanging from my shoulders.
It has been more like a second uniform lately, here pictured with a coffe to go and on the run or a meeting.

Denim by ACNE, vintage shirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs flats, Isabel Marant Etoile coat and by Malene Birger purse.

ALL THE PRETTY SHADES

So, Chanel is out with new naillacquer shades (like every season) and my definite favorite is a perfect shade of neon pink witch really sets the mood for the upcoming season.
I have found it almost impossible to find a good shade of pink (actually the one that suits my ugly, red man hands..) and this one with blue-ish tones can just be it.
Wandering if it will cause fracas in the beauty department?

THE GREAT WHITE

I have been searching for a white crossbody/clutch/purse/something for ages now.
My perfect great white comes from Valentino and  it's on it's way!
I just love the clean shape, yet the fact that it is quite detailed.
It is a perfect spring addition to my wardrobe! Can't wait for mailman to ring on the door. ;)

MANICALLY TRENDY

posted on: Thursday, January 17, 2013

So, so so!
Every season comes some kind of trend that manically spreads among the fashion crowd (Kenzo and Balenciaga sweaters, Balenciaga tiger skirt, statement jewelry ). Something that makes street  photographers go wild, yet it takes so much of that nobody wants to see that particular trend or item ever again.
Although, I have a certain feel to know what it will be for the upcoming SS(contrast and monochrome, I bet every blogger has a striped shirt by now), I couldn't resist the unique mix of monochrome trend paired with tropical flowers printed on neoprene(or something down that lane) that came in a form of a Balmain sweater.
I remember saying to Ch when it arrived first on Net-a-porter that it will be sold out in a matters of few hours(despite the bada** sale going on) ...and it did!I also remember swearing like a streetboy for not buying it too.
Anyways,( thanks to the lovely Net-a-porter customer service )the sweater is now mine and I don't regret a bit for buying it. I actually loved it so much that I decided to sport it during a dinner with my love, despite the fact that it is freezing in Bergen.I paired it with simple jeans and pointy pumps, just to enhance that wonderful print.
Well, you only live once.

Sweater is by Balmain, jeans are Diesel, Louboutin pumps and Marc Jacobs bag

I love the fact that I am both inspired and surprised at the same time, just as I thought that we have seen it all. Riccardo Tisci is a pure genius who knows very well what a girl likes. His Prefall is a perfect combination of street and runway with unexpected prints and materials.
A collection that is just pure perfection,no other words needed!

IN THE MOOD FOR

posted on: Monday, January 14, 2013

Sometime ago I was asked what is my 'go to' outfit when I am felling like, well, moody. And to be quite honest my resort is actually a good PJ the whole day, one has to go out eventually. So, my fav combo is as simple as you can see : a pair of skinny jeans, a shirt (preferably oversized but any one from Celine also does the trick) and pair of pointy pumps. It never fails as it, in an instant. gives me that french chic nonchalant feel, which I feel quite comfy in.

I nam wearing Isabel Marant coat, Celine shirt, Diesel jeans, Louboutin pumps, Balenciaga clutch and what u see hidden in my hand is a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarer

YAY OR NAY??

posted on: Sunday, January 13, 2013

Ok, I have a thing for 'the ugly shoe' and that is because they usually fit so well and look so greait paired with skinnies that they end up being the coolest shoes in closet. The same goes for these Miu Miu's - which I was repulsed by the first time or rather they made me laugh, but strangely they have been on my min last couple of weeks. I have already been thinking on how I can wear them and how to style them, and the more I think about them the more I can see myself wearing them.
What do u think my lovely readers, YAY or NAY?

WINTER SUN

posted on: Saturday, January 12, 2013

Now, you are probably tired of hearing me talk about weather. I can't blame you, but for us up in the North weather is an undying source of small talk.Like today for example, today was the first sunny day we have had in three weeks? The streets were crawling with ppl today, despite the fact that it was -5C,
I used the opportunity to wear sandals, right enough paired with stockings, but hey, I am  not picky!
I am also sporting one of the lovely things that I got on sale: quite eyecaching coat in spring coolest color combo: B&W and a Balenciaga clutch.
I have really been on the hunt for things that really pop up and are easy to wear and pair, but also the things that are fulling the gap in my wardrobes (which always exist...The eternal chase for the perfect piece...)

I am wearing Vanessa Bruno Athe coat, ACNE sweater and men's jeans, Blaneciaga clutch and Alexander Wang  pumps

P.S Big thanks to MARTE  and JMfor tipsing me about my photo featured in the newest issue of Vogue US! I'll post a photo when the issue comes in Bergen... (which will be in quite some weeks from now...Yupp, living in the suburbs of civilisation...)

MORE BALENCIAGA

posted on: Friday, January 11, 2013

It is quite odd this being the last collection by Nicolas for Balenciaga, especially when from consumers point of view it was one of his best.I love how the B&W ad accentuates the strong silhouette yet very easygoing  style which makes Blaneciaga girls so, so cool.

ON POPULAR LITERATURE AND POPULAR ACCESSORIES

Now, I am a girl that quite so unconsciously likes to go against the tide.SO, when everyone were talking about Balenciaga clutches and purses I was all about clean lines and crossbody bags (I still am as I hate not having my arms free). The same goes for popular books, good or bad and especially if they were filmaized. For every person that 'just loved the book' I was less and less interested in reading it.
But, like in many thing I was wrong regarding both: Hugh Grant was marvelous in the movie version of the 'About a boy' and from the first moment I held one Balenciaga clutch I knew I couldn't let it go.
Now I have both, a good indication on how I will spend my weekend-reading.

Channeling Alexander Wang AW, which was one of my favorite shows of the winter season. It was all I wanted : it was quite simple but the devil was in the details.
So, shortly described:right down my lane!
Anyways, I am off to a party/dinner where I will be sporting the look.
I am literature abusing my leather pants for the time being as they go with virtually everything from casual T to well- ninja sweater.
Gotta go!
Love yah!

WHITE SIMPLICITY

So, the monochrome is coming back in the fashion picture (me: poh!) and Pierre Balmain is proving that it doesn't have to be boring. Au contraire, the mix of rough pieces with a feminine silhouette is kicking 'the behind' in my opinion, and accentuate a certain nonchalant look, that I am a big fan of.

NAVY

posted on: Tuesday, January 8, 2013

I have been wearing quite alot navy lately, no particular reason or though behind it. I guess that I have unconsciously fallen pray to the fashion propaganda from earlier seasons as I still clinging on the it's trends.
However it's still quite chilly in Norway so winter trends are still in full bloom(although my mind is set for FW in early spring). I love my Dagmar sweater and the textures with this skirt worked perfectly. I am still in the fase of abusing goodies that have just arrived (boots and the coat)  especially when they work so good with thing I already have in my closet.
Now, so many lovely thing will be arriving the next weeks that I can't wait to show u!

I am wearing Dagmar sweater, Zara skirt, Thakoon boots, The Manual&Co purse, Georg Jensen watch and Marant Coat. Nailpolish si Chanel in 'Frenzy'
